diVa REJUVENATING TREATMENT
diVa is the only vaginal rejuvenation procedure that uses a hybrid fractional laser, the same technology as the Halo laser treatment for aggressive antiaging of the face, neck & chest. Two separate lasers are combined in this one treatment, each treating at a different depth of the vaginal tissue. This synergy between the two lasers leads to rejuvenated and more plump vaginal skin by increasing the supportive structures such as collagen and elastin, as well as creating new blood vessels and nerves endings.

Treatment with the diVa laser rejuvenates the vagina leading to an improvement in natural vaginal moisture and lubrication as well as increased sensation.
DiVa offers an excellent treatment option for vaginal atrophy in patients who are not candidates for our bio-identical hormone therapy. This may be due to a history of breast cancer, estrogen sensitive tumors or other contraindications to BHRT. In patients who can receive hormone therapy safely, diVa can be used in conjunction with BHRT to further enhance results.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
The diVa vaginal laser treatment is a fast, comfortable experience that begins with a medical grade, high potency numbing cream being applied to vaginal tissue. Your provider will remove this cream after a short time and the treatment itself takes less than 5 minutes. The sterile diVa handpiece is used to create small channels of skin ablation in the numb area of the vaginal canal which initiates the body’s healing response. Through this healing process, cells, tissue, blood vessels and nerves are rejuvenized. The diVa laser treatment creates outcomes based on the aggressiveness of the treatment taking into account your gynecologic concerns, the health of your vaginal mucosa and your individual healing ability. Due to this, patient response can vary after a treatment. Erythema (redness) and possibly edema (swelling) are the desired responses within a few minutes after completion of the procedure. There will be little to no discomfort otherwise. The degree of the responses and length of healing time will increase with the depth and coverage of the procedure.

You may observe improvement after each diVa session. The majority of patients will need to complete a series of 3 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results.
Immediately after the procedure the tissue may feel warm and swollen. A cool compress can provide comfort during this time, while most patients do not find this necessary. Some patients experience mild cramping and light spotting/discharge for up to 24-72 hours. Post treatment discomfort may be relieved by over-the-counter oral pain relievers, i.e. Extra Strength Tylenol or ibuprofen. Most patients will wear a panty liner immediately after treatment. It is not recommended to submerge in water/hot tubs, sit in a sauna, exercise or have anything inserted into the vagina for 24 hours after treatment. All other normal activities may be resumed immediately.
Any woman who is suffering from stress incontinence, decreased vaginal lubrication, thin, fragile tissues, painful intercourse and/or lack of sexual sensation or response. *Anyone with an ongoing gynecologic infection or condition must be cleared by their OBGYN prior to treatment. Patients over 45, those requiring a greater degree of tissue repair and/or those with more severely rated symptoms may require more than 3 treatments to reach optimal symptom relief.
